Kosovo Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj, during an interview with Politico, commented on statements of the former chief of EULEX judges, British national Malcolm Simmons, who resigned and unleashed a string of accusations against the organization.
Haradinaj said that Simmons’ claims would have garnered more respect if he had made them earlier in his term, rather than when he was leaving.
PM Haradinaj, who is currently visiting Brussels amid talks with the European Union, acknowledged that EULEX employed hard-working professionals among its staff.
“They are committed to the rule of law. But, there is concern once in a while on the quality and standards being used,” he told Politico in an interview in Brussels on Thursday.
In response to the comments made by Simmons, EULEX through a press release then revealed that Simmons himself was the subject of several investigations involving allegedly serious wrongdoings.
